Victorians with disabilities to receive free MLAK accessible toilet keys

The Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia (MLAA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Victorian Government to provide free MLAK keys to Victorian Companion Card holders.

Through the partnership with the Office for Senior Victorians, part of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Victorian Companion Card holders are now entitled to a free Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK). Their free key will grant cardholders entry to a range of accessible facilities across the country, including Changing Places facilities, disabled toilets and Liberty Swings.

“We’re very proud to be working with the Victorian Government to get MLAK keys into the hands of those who need them, to improve their access to facilities right around the country,” said MLAA CEO Peter Johnson.

MLAK keys grant access to 193 Changing Places facilities around Australia – 90 in Victoria, with an additional 18 on the way – as well as more than 170 Liberty Swings and thousands of disabled toilets.

The new partnership with the Victorian Government is a win for the industry, raising the profile of Master Locksmiths and awareness of the MLAK system among end users and local and state government.

MLAA Business Members are not required to offer MLAK keys to Victorian Companion Card holders for free. To receive their free key, card holders need to apply directly via the MLAA form here:
