Are you interested in a career as a locksmith but you’re not sure yet?
Would you like to be able to read a ProMaster pinning chart, understand the basics of key cutting, be able to build a cylinder, cut a restricted key, cut a key to a lock or rekey a cylinder?
Did you know that the Victorian Government has made the Certificate II in Engineering Pathways FREE for eligible students in 2019?
Melbourne Polytechnic offers a Certificate II to allow those interested in a career in Locksmithing to develop job-ready skills and to experience the job “on the tools”.
Over 9 weeks students are introduced to a wide range of activities and tasks common to the trade and the day-to-day work of a locksmith.
Students who complete Certificate II are eligible for 6 units of credit towards a Certificate III in Locksmithing, if they are signed up for an apprenticeship.
Melbourne Polytechnic can also help to match interested students with employers for work placement based on their locations within Melbourne.
