Applications to participate in the John Andrew Apprentice of the Year 2022 competition are now being accepted!
Are you an apprentice wanting to test your skills against the best, or do you know an apprentice who’s at the top of their game?
The John Andrew Apprentice of the Year competition recognises excellence among Australian and New Zealand locksmith apprentices, and acknowledges the important relationship between an apprentice and their mentor, whose support is a key part of apprentices’ entry to the award.
Competitors are put through their paces across a wide range of core locksmithing skills, including picking, impressioning, lock fitting, master keying and more.
The competition’s winner and their mentor will receive a fully-funded trip to Europe to visit the Silca factory in Italy and the ABUS factory in Germany, both industry-leading, world-class manufacturing facilities, generously provided by the competition’s sponsors LSC, Silca and ABUS.
Testing will be conducted in early September in Melbourne at K J Ross Security Locks and the LSC Distribution Centre, with the Association covering flights and accommodation.
