Election of Officers

National President

In the normal course the National President will hold office or a period of 2 years and will be eligible for re-election.

Nominees for the position of National President must be a natural person over the age of 18 years and be a Nominated Representative or Director of a Business Member and/or a Life Member who is entitled to vote.

Any Business Member and eligible Life Member may nominate an eligible person to be President. The nomination form must be received by the Returning Officer not less than 50 days prior to the general meeting at which the election is declared.

If more than 1 eligible person is nominated a secret ballot of Business Members and eligible Life Members is conducted over a period of not less than 21 days. If, following the secret ballot, 2 or more persons have equally the highest number of votes the election is determined by a further vote of Business Members and eligible Life Members at the general meeting.

The International Office is responsible for assisting the Returning Officer to conduct the election.


Branch Director

In the normal course, a Branch Director will hold office for a period of 2 years and will be eligible for re-election.

Currently, elections for the Directors of the New South ales, Victorian and New Zealand Branches are conducted n the odd years and the elections for the Directors of the Queensland, South Australian and Western Australian ranches are conducted in the even years.

Nominees for the position of Branch Director must be a natural person over the age of 18 years and be a Nominated representative or a Director of a Business Member and/or a life Member who is entitled to vote.

Business and eligible Life Members of a Branch are entitled to nominate a person for election as a Director of that branch.

The nomination form must be received by the Returning Officer not less than 50 days prior to the general meeting at which the election is declared.

If more than 1 eligible person is nominated by a Branch a secret ballot of Business and eligible Life Members of all Branches is conducted over a period of not less than 21 days.

If, following the secret ballot, 2 or more persons have equally the highest number of votes the election is determined by a further vote of Business Members and eligible Life Members at the general meeting.

The International Office is responsible for assisting the Returning Officer to conduct the election.

If a person nominated by a Branch is elected both as a Director and President that Branch is not entitled to nominate another person as Director.


Branch Executive

Elections for the positions of President and Executive Committee Member of each Branch are held annually.

Nominees for these positions must be a natural person over the age of 18 years and be a Nominated Representative or Director of a Business Member and/or a Life Member who is
entitled to vote.

Business and/or eligible Life Members of each Branch are entitled to nominate eligible persons for these position.

Nomination forms must be received by the Branch Returning Officer not less than 50 days prior to the Branch general meeting at which the election is declared.

If more than 1 person is nominated for the position of Branch President, a secret ballot of Business and eligible Life Members is conducted over a period of not less than 21 days.

If, following the secret ballot, 2 or more persons have equally he highest number of votes the election is determined by a further vote of Business Members and eligible Life Members
at the general meeting.

The International Office is responsible for assisting the Branch Returning Officer to conduct the election. All eligible persons properly nominated for Branch Executive Committee Member are declared elected.
